Korea to expand contribution to UN peacekeeping missions 박대통령, 미중일 정상과 평화유지 정상

President Park Geun-hye has pledged to expand South Korea′s contribution to UN peace missions. At a peacekeeping summit held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly on Monday, President Park said Seoul will deploy an additional engineering unit to assist with reconstruction activities in conflict zones. Korea currently has around six-hundred-30 troops deployed. She added Korea also plans to provide deployable level-two hospital equipment throughout the African Union and steadily scale up its financial contributions to the missions. The summit, organized by the United States, was attended by U.S. President Barack Obama, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping among others.
