Senior Taliban commander confirmed the death of Mansour

A senior Taliban commander has confirmed the death of the group's leader Akhtar Mansour, killed in a US drone strike on Saturday. The strike was authorized by US President Barack Obama, and targeted Mansour in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region. Mansour's death could have political repercussions within the Taliban, where there's already dissension over his leadership since he assumed the title last July.
