So this was just a random practice run that turned out to be a sizeable PB hahaha In preparation for my performance at GDQ this summer, I've been practicing a little bit every day; if I don't stream JK2, I either do IL practice or a quick warm-up and a run. My biggest concern before the marathon performance itself is getting burnt out from the speedrun (aka losing all motivation to practice/run the game). As such I've been limiting large practice sessions (4-8 hours) to a minimum and only then do them when I REALLY want to. As such I've been steadily improving my PB by 10 seconds here and there and then larger PBs that I will share and submit to the leaderboard such as this. My overall goal is to consistently get under 45 minutes RTA (this run was 44:31) and have a PB that is under 40 mins "time without loads" (42:56 is this PB time without loads). The run itself was pretty good; in my previous PB one of the biggest time losses was not getting lightsaber skip first try on yavin_trial; which is a pretty free timesave for me because I am insanely comfortable with my setup so if I get to the peg I make it up there over 3/4 of attempts. That being said it is the hardest trick in the run, and having that consistency is INSANELY good sign for pulling it off at GDQ. Some of the bigger time losses here was the death on ns_streets from the invisible pixel on the wall hahaha which was silly and caused me to lose a few more seconds to bad movement in the next level due to salt hahaha Next I lost a bit of time to doom_detention because of the death and not skipping enough of the cutscene (but NAILED ~ S P A C E M A N ~) and cairn_reactor where I missed seeker drone skip once and one of the harder jumps a few times (that should be consistent for me now). The biggest poop-scoop of them all was Doom_shields where I lost 10 seconds of time to one of the easier tricks in the run haha that will be an ez pz time save! Artus_mine and Yavin_final will each have 10 seconds of time save just from moving well, and I still have PLENTY of room for improvement across every one of my splits just from playing well. Definitely another great hurdle to jump over as I continue to improve at this awesome speed-game! Stream: / covert_muffin Twitter: @CovertMuffin SGDQ Schedule: https://gamesdonequick.com/schedule
