Fire Engines Responding to Another Grass Fire Near Cal Expo in Sacramento

Sac Metro Copter helped with water drops and to map the fire. A dozer also helped cut lines to stop the spread of the flames. Initially crews were having issues with spots fires along the bike trail and continued to call for additional resources. They allowed the fire to burn to the levee road and started doing firing operations to clear grass and brush ahead of the fire. Forward progress was stopped at about 125 acres. This is one of several fires that burned in this area in the last week. Crews will remain on scene for hours to mop up hot spots.
