Qatar has urged the Taliban to ensure safe passage for people who want to leave the country, now that US-led evacuations have come to an end. The Middle Eastern nation has hosted negotiations between the Taliban and the US in recent years, and will also be home to Western missions that used to be in Kabul. The Taliban has promised amnesty to those who worked with foreign forces, but some Afghans are still heading to land crossings with Pakistan and Iran to try and flee.
