Planet Veldin—Ratchet's home—is under siege by Dr. Nefarious’s Tyranoid army. The duo utilizes an untested warp drive to rush back home, landing directly on the front lines to assist the Galactic Rangers. Rising Conflict & Strategy Ratchet fights through the city of Metropolis, reclaiming territory from the Tyranoids and defending the presidential palace. After meeting the President, they learn that the only hero to ever defeat Nefarious, Captain Qwark, has gone missing in the Florana jungle. The mission shifts to a tropical search-and-rescue, where they find a "monkified" Qwark who has lost his memory. To help restore it, they retrieve a "Vid-Comic" from Al and compete in the dangerous "Annihilation Nation" reality show to win a Tyranoid disguise. Forming the Q-Force With Qwark’s memory partially restored and a new disguise in hand, the team regroups on the Starship Phoenix. Captain Qwark assumes command and forms the "Q-Force," a specialist squad.
