Learn how to properly locate and test a proper ground point on your car. A good ground point ensures proper and a safe installation. 2 methods will be used to determine a proper ground point. Method 1: Continuity Test Set your multimeter to Continuity Test or 200 ohms. Using the black (negative) lead, touch the negative terminal of your vehicle’s battery and then place the red (positive) lead on to your ground point. Your multimeter should beep if it is a complete path. If it does not beep, look for another ground. Method 2: Resistance Test Set your multimeter to Resistance Mode or Diode Check. Using the black (negative) lead, touch the negative terminal of your vehicle’s battery and then place the red (positive) lead on to your ground point. You will want to look for something less than .2 ohms.
