A jury of 12 people will decide the fate of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged in the death of George Floyd. Like all jurors, they were randomly selected from their community to perform a civic duty. But to protect their identities, jurors' personal information is kept private, and they do not appear on camera in the livestreamed court proceedings. The jury will also remain sequestered for deliberations and will stay in a hotel at night.
