Inclusive Design: Making Metrolink accessible for all

Inclusive Design: Making Metrolink accessible for all

In this short film, people with disabilities – and Metrolink planners and engineers – talk about their work to make sure the Greater Manchester tram network is accessible for all. Metrolink, which now carries over 36 million journeys a year, has been held up as a beacon of accessibility and one of the most inclusive transport systems in Europe. The work of Transport for Greater Manchester’s award-winning Disability Design Reference Group is showcased in a new film launched by prestigious Design Council Cabe on international “World Cities Day” 2016. TfGM’s inclusive approach to the planning, design and management of the Metrolink network, is just part of the longer ‘Inclusive Environments’ film which you can watch here:    • Inclusive Environments
