Episode description: As someone who talks about Felix, I've come to realize that he's one of the most controversial characters in Miraculous. I've also noticed that he's one of the most complex and misunderstood. Because of this, I thought it was time to make a video explaining his character, his development, and his redemption arc, to help people better understand him and his journey. Many people say Felix doesn't deserve his Miraculous. That he shouldn't have had a redemption arc, nor does he deserve one. He's not a hero and was a better character when he was a villain. I, however, HEAVILY disagree. In fact, his being a hero is vital to Miraculous and the overarching theme of the show. Come with me as we discuss all of the complexities of Felix Fathom: his character development and his redemption arc. DISCLAIMER!!!! 1. HEAVY TW❗️❗️ This video talks heavily of many forms of Ch*ld @b*se and implications of DV (Domestic V!ol*nce). Diving into Felix's character means we have to take a closer look at his childhood. Because of this, it's very important to talk about the many forms of CA that can be found throughout his youth. Things can be very hard to talk about/listen to (I had a hard time writing those parts of the slideshow). This video is split into chapters, so feel free to skip the "Pre-Miraculous" section if you don't want to hear about these things. Mental health matters. Make sure to keep yourself safe! ❤️ 2. I do not excuse, support, or condone any of Felix's actions. Explanation ≠ justification. This video is not meant to be perceived as a defense or "glazing" of Felix and his actions. 2 things can be true at once. Felix can have a reason to do something and have the action still be bad. PLEASE keep that in mind as we continue on. Also, please remember that a past action shouldn't automatically mean that a person cannot and shouldn't change. In fact, bad people are the ones who SHOULD change. Felix's redemption can be talked about and celebrated. 3. You don't have to like Felix; in fact, I understand Felix haters more than anyone. That being said, Felix's story (STORY, not his actions) is an extremely important thing to be portrayed. If there's anything that you get out of this story, I hope it's such.
