Drama at Sarova Panafric as police block EALA MP Simon Mbugua from hotel premises

There was drama outside a city hotel where East Africa Legislative Assembly Member of Parliament Simon Mbugua was scheduled to hold a press conference, but instead denied access by the hotel management. Mbugua who was released on cash bail after being charged in court for robbery with violence involving the assault of businessman Timothy Muriuki, confronted the hotel security personell manning the gate as well as Police who were on standby. The regional legislator who issued a signed and stamped receipt indicating that he had reserved and booked the premise for a press conference, claimed that the Police ordered the hotel management to deny Mbugua access or else face imminent closure. The Hotel management stated that they had informed the MP in advance that the premise was booked for another function, claims Mbugua denies. Mbugua, who is Governor Mike Sonko's close ally also made allegetions against senior government officials.
