Do Spine Numbers Really MATTER? - The 300 vs. The 340 can you have both in your quiver?

Those funny numbers on the spine of an arrow- Do they even matter? Short answer: yeah! To demonstrate, I shoot a 300 spine and a 340 spine (identically built) down range at the same target. Lots of people think of spine as just a number to match your bow weight, and that’s true. But I’ve seen countless archers have a smorgasbord of arrows in their quiver with spine numbers. BUT- even though they may still group, they won’t group in the same spot. The 300 is slightly heavier and stiffer, as it yields more carbon within the radius as compared to the 340 and the longer your arrow the more the variation. So although the 340 is only slightly heavier, it being a thicker and stiffer arrow has a major impact on the reactivity of the arrow leaving the string as well. What I want you to make sure of is that you HAVE to make sure all your arrows in your quiver are the same spine and same weight. Small numbers. Big Impacts
