Dramatic water rescue in California! California firefighters with assistance from Copter 4 rescues a driver, trapped in a vehicle, with raising flood waters in the Ojai area. A winter storm caused severe flooding and rare snow in Southern California, according to the National Weather Service. A flash flood warning was in effect late Friday night when the Ventura County Fire Department rescued a motorist stranded in rising floodwaters in Ojai, in a valley northwest of Los Angeles. A video shared by the fire department shows rescuers approaching the vehicle near Ladera Ridge. A helicopter lowers a rescue swimmer onto the roof of the vehicle, which is stranded in shallow but fast-moving floodwaters. The rescuer secures the motorist and both are lifted to safety. Ojai saw a total of 2.47 inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service. Elsewhere in Ventura County, Rose Valley and Matilija Dam recorded nearly 11 inches of rain and Pine Mountain Inn saw 11.51 inches of rain.
