"Shinigami" (Extreme Demon) by cherryteam | Geometry Dash 2.11

cherryteam has been finishing a bunch of projects recently, and "Shinigami" is one of them. This has been in the works for several years with a lot of hype for its completion. I can definitely understand why. For one, high quality levels and even megacollabs often don't come close to the length of this; the scale of the level is massive, being 4 minutes long with a huge team of creators. This is hype on its own, but of course it wouldn't matter much if the level didn't look very good too. Admittedly, red and even red mixed with yellow, like here, has been done quite a lot in the past. Still, I think it's executed well enough here to stand out. What makes it stand out most visually, though, is the theme. Typically, levels using red lean towards some form of hell theme, but the theme here is focused around death in Japanese culture. This is seen in both the level name, "Shinigami", meaning god of death, as well as various art found throughout the level. I haven't seen a theme quite like it in Geometry Dash, except for "LEYAK" which probably comes the closest, but that was themed around another culture than Japanese. With all of this being said, I understand why the level took some time to complete. So many creators for such a long level takes a long time to complete, including the actual part creation, merging, polishing, and optimizing. Transitions also need a lot of work. Everyone involved did a really good job; every part utilizes the theme and color scheme quite well, and many feature cool art and effects that emphasize the theme. My personal favorite part is probably the one at 2:10. I really like the texture of the block design and custom background, made up of various wood and brick blocks respectively. The clouds in the foreground also look great. Similar things can be said for pretty much every part. There are some parts that look a bit outdated compared to others, but that's to be expected from a level that has been in the works so long, and I find it kinda charming how the visuals reflect that. My only minor nitpick visually is that a couple of the transitions are a bit empty, such as at 0:27, but most of them are handled well. As for the gameplay, this will be a similar case to many of my other Extreme Demon showcases; there isn't much for me to comment on personally. This will most likely be around 125 to 150 on the Demonlist, which means it should be accessible to a lot of players. Time will tell what they think about the gameplay. The level has been optimized a ton since previous previews and showcases, and there will be a good LDM, so this should be playable for a lot of people. If nothing goes wrong, this deserves an Epic Extreme Demon rating in my opinion! ★ Become a Member of my channel for special perks: https://www.youtube.com/vipringd/join VIDEO INFORMATION - Recorded by Vernam:    / @vernamgd   Game (version): Geometry Dash (2.11) Level: "Shinigami" by lagnugg, SirZaiss, bli, MrClyde, EnZore, Scrumpy, RealVet, Dawnf4ll, BySelling, Expy, jamscone, CastriX, Konsi, Vampur, Cuaer7, MapleGaegosu, L4mbads, ZeroSR, Kivvvi, Infxrnal, HelpegasuS, ElizabethaGames, Xatz, Zhopolom, ORte, fCrouley, Maitnary, hyp3rlink, gdsauzzeth, HighJump, Buragoz and Hantein ID: 93262795 Music: "Shuriken" by Panda Eyes and FYER https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/list...
