At the Argonne National Laboratory Energy Showcase held Saturday, September 15th, 2012, visitors could watch a live demonstration of a technique called "acoustic levitation" that uses high-frequency sound waves to suspend small objects like liquid droplets and plastic spheres in mid-air.
