Normal position of placenta is fundal but sometimes placenta comes to the lower part of the uterus which is called low lying placenta or placenta previa. In first trimester it is usually not of much importance because it usually recedes back as pregnancy advances. But if placenta is low lying after 20 weeks of pregnancy it’s of great concern and full precautions must be taken.
