In part 17 of Octopath Traveler 2 we see the Chapter 1 story of Partitio. Him and his father, Papp, build a city around a silver mine with the help of a friend Roque. When Roque sets out on his own business ventures, Partitio and Papp run into financial difficulties and are at risk of losing everything when Giff shows up to raise their taxes. This is the final straw for Partitio who not only fights Giff for the sake of Oresrush, but is also faced wtih the fact that Roque was behind much of their failures in recent years.
