Trivendra Singh Rawat has tendered his resignation after an internal rift in the party. The decision of choosing Tirath Singh Rawat as the Chief Minister was taken after a crucial legislative party meeting in Dehradun. Tirath Singh Rawat was a Lok Sabha MP from Pauri Garhwal. He was also the first education minister of Uttarakhand.
