A well-marked low-pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal and is expected to intensify into a deep depression by 26th October morning. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it could further develop into a cyclone named ‘Montha’ by 27th October, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in Odisha. The exact landfall location and wind speed will be confirmed by IMD today. Early estimates indicate the cyclone may cross near the Andhra Pradesh coast, close to Visakhapatnam, around 28th October.
