Senate Democrats & Gun Violence Survivors Demand Action to Keep Guns Out of the Wrong Hands

Senate Democrats, joined by survivors of senseless gun violence, demand that Congress pass legislation to keep American safe from terror attacks and keep guns out of the wrong hands. The event, which comes in the wake of the attack in Orlando and on the eve of the one-year anniversary of the shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, is being led by Senators Charles Schumer (D-NY), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Mazie K. Hirono (D-HI), Chris Murphy (D-CT), Cory Booker (D-NJ) and includes survivors of gun violence from Charleston, San Bernardino and elsewhere in the United States. In recent days, Senate Democrats have pushed for Congress to pass legislation to prevent suspected terrorists from purchasing firearms and explosives, fully fund the FBI to prevent domestic terror attacks, and provide necessary funding for DOJ to investigate and fight against discrimination and prosecute hate crimes.
