Jedi: Survivor - Ninth Sister (Grandmaster)

Soooo I didn’t see her head roll off her shoulders the first time… But it appears I have defeated her!! I keep not celebrating my wins because I know it’ll get harder, however I must be improving cause this was actually fine. It took three attempts to figure her out and as you can see I was about 1 hp from having to do a fourth attempt, but this is what helped me… First Impressions: So the 30fps cutscene to 60fps gameplay is a little jarring; slightly disorienting in boss battles, so that was my first hurdle I needed to get over mentally It seems that the mid-fight cutscenes will now always play regardless of dying, so gone are the days of tanking through boss battles; as someone as impatient as me it felt like it broke the flow of the fight, but maybe in the future it’ll be a good chance to learn how to utilise those breaks of gameplay successfully I could say the parrying/blocking felt unresponsive in this one, but maybe I shall spin it and say that the lightsabers feel even more responsive, like a move doesn’t have to be registered for the lightsaber to do damage? We’ll figure it out as we go through Tips: That Oggdo Bogdo fight in the first game taught me so much and this continues to be my best tip… LEARN THROUGH DODGING, NOT FIGHTING Parrying is great, and clutch in moments, but this fight really requires you to dodge Continue to circle her, easier to dodge BUT obviously don’t get the perks of precision evade When she does mind control thing, let it happen, trigger her to fight by attacking but be aware she’s gonna throw an unblockable afterwards Lightsaber throw was hard to predict, just maintain good distance so she can’t whip that out, better to fight on your terms I know it’s all in the wrong order, but single stance felt better to do damage and evade, great for jumping too The third phase is a little confusing cause you need to use dual lightsabers I think, but continue to dodge and hit, no need to get fancy The hold parry thing was also strange and it felt like it didn’t register; I’m pretty sure I got lucky but it takes a few moments to pull off the move, so don’t treat it with parry timing, make sure you have time to finish the animation so it registers and bob should hopefully be your uncle In all honesty I was a little underwhelmed after this fight cause I heard horror stories about this one, but I’ve got to give credit to myself - I’m getting gud! Still a long way to go though…
