CHOICE MC'S - BEAT OF THE STREET (DUB) (1985) Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, The Choice MC's emerged as a notable hip hop group. They made their mark with two noteworthy 12" records. The first was "Brooklyn Style," released in 1985 on Rocky Records. This was followed by "Beat of The Street" on Tommy Boy, which included Fresh Gordon's standout solo hit, "Gordy's Groove." Interestingly, The Choice MC's occasionally receive artist credit for this record by mistake. Although the group originally consisted of five members, financial constraints led to only three members actually touring: Gordy, Keith, and Jeff. Despite the limitations, they continued to showcase their talent and passion for hip hop, leaving an indelible mark on the scene.
