A US military MQ-9 surveillance drone crashed into the Black Sea on March 14. The incident happened as the drone was intercepted by the Russian fighter jets Su-27s. It was the first such incident since Russia's invasion of Ukraine over a year ago. The instance drew condemnation from the White House and the Pentagon. US Military said that the Russian fighter jets dumped fuel on the MQ-9, trying to damage it. However, the Russian Defence Ministry said that its aircraft had come into contact with the drone. It said that the drone had crashed after "sharp manoeuvring" and was detected near the Crimea peninsula. The Pentagon said that the incident likely caused damage to the Russian aircraft. However, Russia's Defence Ministry said its fighter jets had "returned safely to their home airfield". Notably, the incident happened near Black Sea, which is bordered by Russia and Ukraine. The US State Department later said it had summoned the Russian Ambassador to protest against downing of the drone. #Russia #US #WorldNews Subscribe now and press the bell icon 🔔 to get new video updates: https://bit.ly/2UV4ygi -------------------------------------- ANI is South Asia's leading Multimedia News Agency providing content for every information platform, including TV, Internet, broadband, newspapers, and mobiles.
