বিশেষ সংবাদদাতা : পাসপোর্টে নাম ও বয়স সংশোধনের আবেদন নেয়া আকস্মিকভাবে বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে বহিরাগমন ও পাসপোর্ট অধিদপ্তর। নাম-বয়স সংশোধন করে বিভিন্ন জনের বিভিন্ন দেশে গিয়ে ধরা পড়ে দেশের ভাবমূর্তি ক্ষুন্ন করাকে এই পদক্ষেপ নেয়া হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন অধিদপ্তরের মহাপরিচালক মেজর জেনারেল মো. মাসুদ রেজওয়ান। গতকাল বুধবার তিনি সাংবাদিকদের বলেন, যে নামে এবং বয়স উল্লেখ করে একবার পাসপোর্ট হয়ে গেছে, তা আর পরিবর্তনের কোনো সুযোগ নেই। গত ৭ মার্চ থেকে অধিদপ্তর নাম, বাবার নাম, মায়ের নাম ও বয়স পরিবর্তনের আবেদন নিচ্ছে না, যদিও পাসপোর্ট নীতিমালায় নাম কিংবা বয়স সংশোধনের সুযোগ এখনও রয়েছে। নীতিমালা অনুযায়ী, নাম সংশোধনের ক্ষেত্রে এসএসসি বা সমমানের সনদ অথবা প্রথম শ্রেণির ম্যাজিস্ট্রেটের আদালতের হলফনামা অথবা সংবাদপত্রে বিজ্ঞপ্তি প্রকাশ করতে হয়। বিধিমালা সংশোধন না হলেও স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে স¤প্রতি অনুষ্ঠিত এক বৈঠকের সিদ্ধান্ত অনুযায়ী এই পদক্ষেপ নেয়া হয়েছে বলে জানা গেছে। Step 1: Check if the new ePassport is already available in your area The new ePassport is introduced step by step at the Regional Passport Offices in Bangladesh and at the Bangladesh Missions around the world. Step 3: Pay passport fees You need to pay for your new passport before you visit the passport office to complete the enrolment. You can pay the passport fees online at the end of the online application process. You also have the possibility to pay at one to the supporting banks. We recommend to take the printed application form with you when making the bank payment. Step 4: Visit your Passport Office for biometric enrolment After you submitted your online application AND scheduled an appointment you can visit your passport officer for enrolment. Make sure you have all required documents with you when you visit the passport office. At least this includes the printed application form, payment slip from the bank or online payment, NID card or Birth Certificate, previous passport if available, and other documents.
