In this week’s update, we dig into some significant developments across the #Microsoft365 ecosystem. First up, the Microsoft 365 Developer Program is back and better than ever. You can now purchase #Copilot licenses directly within your developer sandbox tenant, a long-requested feature now available! There are also upcoming enhancements like integration with #VisualStudio subscriptions and a Copilot Starter Pack to streamline extension development. We also covered the evolution from app caching to app suspension: now applicable across the broader Microsoft 365 landscape, not just Teams. New lifecycle handlers provide more robust state management when users navigate away and return to your app. In #CopilotStudio, the highlight is the public preview of web automation capabilities, adding full RPA-like features for web apps where APIs aren’t available. Notably, WhatsApp is now a native channel, making Copilot Studio the only enterprise-grade platform with that integration. Finally, a nugget from the Microsoft 365 roadmap: the new Teams Channel Agent promises MCP integration with tools like GitHub and Atlassian. However, the “select third-party” phrasing raises questions about access control and customization—we’ll keep an eye on that as Ignite approaches.
