Hi, Welcome to Tashreeh. In Today's video we will tell you about the greatest and longest protest in the history to save tree. It is about Julia Butterfly Hill, Woman Who Lived 738 Days On Tree. Julia Hill climbed Luna, a redwood tree that was around 200 feet long and was 1500 years old, on December 10, 1997, and she didn't come down for another 738 days. How come She did that? How did she stay alive for so long under such a tall tree? What did she eat? Please stick with us since in this movie we will learn everything. A 1500-year-old redwood tree named Luna was the home of American environmental activist Julia Butterfly Hill for 738 days between December 1997 and December 1999. She did so in opposition to the Pacific Lumber company's logging practises. She was successful in getting the Pacific Lumber Company to agree to leave the tree alone and create a 200-foot safety zone around it. The world record for tree sitting was broken by her protest. This demonstration was an effort to stop deforestation and highlight Pacific Lumber's environmental negligence in the media. The crucial function that woods play in conserving the ecosystem and stabilising hillsides was also brought to light by Julia's initiative. When she was 23 years old, Julia had climbed the massive redwood tree after deciding to take part in a "tree sit" protest while visiting an eco-friendly event. In reality, Julia had no prior experience or lofty goals; she became an activist by mistake. She simply could not understand why anyone would want to remove the last remaining redwoods, which had been standing tall for up to 2000 years, or injure an ancient tree. Julia Butterfly Hill car accident: After moving to Jonesboro, Arkansas, with her family during her middle school years, Julia's life abruptly changed in August 1996 when she was 22 years old and was fatally injured in a vehicle accident. Hill was serving as the designated driver at the time for a friend who had consumed alcohol. A drunk motorist struck her friend's car from behind. She suffered significant injuries as a result of the steering wheel's penetration into her skull during the collision. After over a year of diligent therapy, Julia was finally able to walk and speak normally again. How did Julia Butterfly Hill survive in a tree: In the vast canopy of the tree, Julia has spent more than two years on two 6 × 6 foot platforms. She used a solar-powered phone to grab the attention of the global media. She was raised into the branches on a wooden plank with assistance from the other members of the Earth First! crew. Julia had a number of difficulties while she was in the redwood tree, including a severe El Nino storm, helicopter harassment, and threats from loggers who were destroying trees nearby. She was even threatened with death. The most of the time, she was chilly and damp, and occasionally, the "discomfort and fear left her sobbing in the foetal position." How did Julia Butterfly Hill eat: She had just intended to spend one week in the redwood. She brought some food and drink. After the week was over, everyone anticipated Julia would go back to the forest floor. However, the reality was different. After seven days, Julia made the decision to scale the entire tree and erect a temporary shelter there. Volunteers climbed the mountain 2 1/2 kilometres to give food and supplies. Achievement: In 1999, Julia and Pacific Lumber Company came to an arrangement under which Luna and all trees within a 200-foot buffer zone would be conserved, and Julia would give up the tree in return. In accordance with the resolution, Humboldt State University received a $50,000 donation for research into sustainable forestry from Julia and other activists. Julia finally left her home atop Luna after 738 days and returned to civilisation with a wonderful new perspective on life. She was undoubtedly a different person.
