Brittney Griner has been detained in Russia for nearly 4 months. "This would never happen to players like Lebron or Stephen Curry because they don't have to go overseas and play," says Tamara Moore a former WNBA player who underscores that what happened to Brittney is a result of pay inequities between leagues. Brittney was taken into custody Feb. 17 after Russian authorities said they found vape cartridges containing cannabis oil in her bag at the airport. "I would like for them to bring Brittney Griner home. I think she is an American who has given a lot back to this country." Tamara Moore will be appearing on Good Morning America Thursday morning for the 50th anniversary of Title 9. Tamara tells me she plans to also use the opportunity to advocate for Brittney's safe return home. Brittney Griner is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and seven-time WNBA All-Star. To date she still has not been allowed to call her wife. A scheduled call on their 4th anniversary was not successful due to a "logistical error" according to the State Department.
