Hurricane Irene Swell, Sets, and Surf: Cocoa Beach Pier, August 26,2011

(*this is a re-upload to improve audio quality). Hurricane Irene was passing approximately 240 NM ENE of Cape Canaveral at this point and heading Cape Lookout, North Carolina on this Friday morning.. The wind had switched to offshore (WNW) much earlier prior to sunrise. The swell at this point, 10AM EDT, was on the wane . Winds in Irene were official 95 mph with a low central pressure, which continued to lower even after the storm hit very close to Hatteras, although by overnight into Sunday suspect it had gone extratropical.
