Bologna, 2019. During the trial for the August 2, 1980, massacre, the Public Prosecutor interrogates witness Vincenzo Vinciguerra, the confessed perpetrator of the 1972 Peteano massacre. Although he never repented, Vinciguerra distances himself from right-wing Italian subversive circles, denouncing their collusion with state apparatuses commonly referred to as "deviants." According to Vinciguerra, in the early 1970s, Venetian neo-fascists Delfo Zorzi and Carlo Maria Maggi proposed that he kill the MP Mariano Rumor with the complicity of his bodyguards. This circumstance has always been denied by those directly involved, however, for Vinciguerra it proves the connection between Ordine Nuovo and the top brass of the police force. Imprisoned since 1979 for the hijacking of a plane, the former Ordinovista claimed responsibility for the Peteano bombing only in 1984. He is currently still under arrest.
