Because it's one of my favorite genres, Marvel Cosmic Invasion was probably my most anticipated game of 2025. Well, it's finally out and I can say it's definitely a worthy addition to the great renaissance of beat em ups released recently, but there's some caveats. It just isn't as "awesome" as Shredder's Revenge to me. A lot of the charm of the TMNT game are missing in this one. The combat is deep, characters are unique, but still the combat wasn't as satisfying. Boss fights are pretty great, but the music is not near as memorable. I think my expectations were just too high for this one... Tribute Games and Dotemu are teaming up again, in collaboration with Marvel Games, to craft an original, fresh beat 'em up.
