Robbinsdale Police Request 'Unprecedented' State Review in Khalil Azad's Death

The Robbinsdale Police Department has formally requested what it describes as an “unprecedented” outside investigation by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension into the death of Khalil Azad. CCX News has also learned that police camera footage is expected to be released as early as tomorrow. Azad is the man whose body was found last July in Crystal Lake. The body turned up two days after Azad allegedly fled from Robbinsdale police after officers tried to arrest him for suspected drunken driving. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office said “accidental drowning” was the cause of death. Azad’s family believes he was bitten by dogs and beaten to death by police. http://www.ccxmedia.org   / ccxsports     / ccxnews     / ccxmedia.org   CCX Media is on Comcast Xfinity in the Northwest Suburbs of Minneapolis and includes the cities Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Crystal, Golden Valley, Maple Grove, New Hope, Osseo, Plymouth and Robbinsdale.
