CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden said that the flu virus often does not get the respect it deserves as it sends hundreds of thousands to the hospital each year. Frieden said there is no excuse not to get vaccinated against the flue, adding that a deferred vaccination is often a forgotten vaccination.
