Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Visit To Vyshgorod In Kyiv | Russia Ukraine War News Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday visited Vyshgorod in the Kyiv region, a town which been badly damaged by Russian shelling. Zelenskyy inspected a four-storey residential building that had been damaged by a Russian missile attack on Wednesday. He also visited one of the so-called "Invincibility points" where people can access basic services around the clock and free of charge in the absence of electricity or heat. The attacks come as Russia has stepped up bombardment of Ukraine's power grid and other critical civilian infrastructure in a bid to tighten the screw on Kyiv. THE DEAD LITTER THE STREETS OF KHERSON Kherson residents watched on Friday as emergency services collected the bodies of their neighbours and relatives killed in a series of Russian airstrikes. Natalia Kristenko's dead body lay covered in a blanket in the doorway of her apartment building for hours overnight. City workers were at first too overwhelmed to retrieve her as they responded to a deadly barrage of attacks that shook Ukraine's southern city of Kherson. COMEDY CLUB KEEPS POWERLESS LVIV LAUGHING Dark streets and the humming of generators has become commonplace in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv. After a missile onslaught on Ukraine's battered energy grid on Wednesday, Lviv lost both power and water, as trams and trolleybuses stopped running. By night-time on Wednesday, about 90% of Lviv had electricity and water restored, only for emergency shutdowns to continue the next morning. With the help of an online map created by residents, people can find a cafe with a generator to escape the cold and darkness. The 'Long Stormy applause' bar in a basement in one of the central streets is now both a shelter and a place to charge phones and cheer up. Young stand-up comedians perform here, joking about life without electricity and other impacts of the war in front of an audience sitting largely in the dark. The power of the generator is enough to cover the stage, microphones and parts of the kitchen. And the candles in the hall add a special atmosphere, says Andriy Ozarkiv, art director at the venue. #russiaukrainewar #kyiv #russiavsukraine n18oc_world
