Mayhem in Somalia

Over 30 people including several members of the Somali Parliament have been killed in a terror attack in Mogadishu. Reports say up to 15 Members of Parliament and government officials may have perished in the attack, which Al-Shabaab Somali insurgents are claiming responsibility for. In the daring ambush, a suicide bomber and gunmen wearing military uniforms stormed a hotel close to the presidential palace in Mogadishu, opened fire on a guard, before ambushing the lawmakers and other senior government officials. Somali President Sheikh Shariff Ahmed has condemned the attacks and said his government would fight to ensure the militants do not destabilize his government. Sally Mbilu reports.
