Hardcore Ironman is a gamemode where you cannot trade with other players, buy things other players have sold to shops, pick up items other players drop, or die. That's the most important part. As a Hardcore Ironman, I get one life. If I die, my account is turned into a regular Ironman, where the same restrictions apply, except it shows I have died.
