This video is meant for students who want to clear their mathematics fundamentals. Suitable for students of classes 9 and 10 appearing for Mathematics Olympiads, for class 11 & 12 students preparing for Mains & Advance examinations. In mathematics, a function from a set X to a set Y assigns to each element of X exactly one element of Y. The set X is called the domain of the function and the set Y is called the co-domain of the function. There are 3 times of Relations: 👉 One to One relation (can be a functions) 👉 Many to One relation (can be a function) 👉One to Many Relations ( cannot be a function) A one-to-many relation is not considered a function because it does not satisfy the requirement of having a unique output for each input in the domain. A one-to-many relation is also called a non-functional relation. 👉A function is "even" when: f(x) = f(−x) for all x In other words there is symmetry about the y-axis (like a reflection). They got called "even" functions because the functions x^2, x^4, x^6, x^8 behave like that, but there are other functions that behave like that too, such as cos(x). 👉A function is "odd" when:−f(x) = f(−x) for all x Note the minus in front of f(x): −f(x). And we get origin symmetry. They got called "odd" because the functions x, x^3, x^5, x^7 behave like that, but there are other functions that behave like that, too, such as sin(x).
