Icy Road Dangers

Freezing weather is causing dangerous conditions all across the mountains and the Upstate Monday night. Snow and ice are posing a threat to anyone driving. Road crews across the mountains are trying to stay ahead of harsh weather, but light snow is swirling across the pavement and sticking. NCDOT drivers are chaining-up tires on plow and spreader trucks. Salt from huge piles is normally the answer on cold winter nights in the mountains to make those roads safer. But when it goes below 20 degrees, it doesn't work out so well.
