Policy Change Allows Up to 24,000 Venezuelans to Enter the US for Up to 2 Years | EWTN News Nightly

A change of policy equals a change to plans for migrants from Venezuela hoping to enter the United States. Up to 24,000 Venezuelan migrants will now be able to catch a flight to the US. Those migrants will be allowed to stay in the country for up to 2 years. In turn, Venezuelans who try to enter the country illegally at the Southern border will be sent back to Mexico. Senior Fellow on Border Security and Immigration at the Heritage Foundation, Simon Hankinson, joins to share why the sudden move to green-light some migrants but not others. Hankinson recently returned from a trip to the South Texas border and noted some troubling trends as far as deadly drugs getting into the US. He discusses the journey to cross the border for these migrants and why this administration isn't doing more to stop the influx, given the risk of human life. Hankinson fills us in on what other stories he is following. EWTN News Nightly provides the latest news and analysis from a Catholic perspective.
