To ensure a systematic, fair, and transparent admission process, a review meeting was held today in the Commissioner's Auditorium, chaired by Devipatan Division Commissioner Shashi Bhushan Lal, with all relevant officials. All preparations for the entrance examination were reviewed in detail. In the meeting, the Commissioner gave clear instructions that the entrance examination should be conducted in accordance with government standards, with complete transparency and on the basis of merit, and that no negligence should be tolerated at any level. He directed that arrangements for examination centers, confidentiality of question papers, convenience of candidates, additional time for students with disabilities, security arrangements, and timely action be ensured. The Commissioner stated that this school is an important initiative to provide quality and free residential education to children of construction workers, children displaced by COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic, and children eligible under the Chief Minister's Child Service Scheme (General). According to information provided by the Office of the Deputy Labor Commissioner, Devipatan Division, Gonda, a total of 160 seats are available in Class 6, including 80 boys and 80 girls, while a total of 61 seats are reserved in Class 9, including 31 boys and 30 girls. Applications are being accepted both online and offline. Application forms are available free of charge on any working day from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Labor Department Office, District Probation Officer Office, District Basic Education Officer Office, and District School Inspector Office. Candidates can also apply through the Board's website, upbocw.in. Completed applications, along with all required documents and three passport-size photographs, must be submitted by 5:00 PM on January 31, 2026. According to the eligibility criteria, for admission to Class 6, a candidate's date of birth must be no earlier than May 1, 2014, nor later than July 31, 2016. For Class 9, the date of birth must be no earlier than May 1, 2011, nor later than July 31, 2013. Candidates must be studying or have passed the relevant class. A maximum of two children per family will be eligible, and reservations for all categories will be applicable as per government rules. The entrance examination will be held on February 22, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in Gonda district. The exam duration will be two hours, and disabled/abled students will be given an additional 40 minutes. Admit cards can be downloaded from the portal starting February 7, 2026, or obtained offline from the office of the Deputy Labor Commissioner, Devipatan Division, Gonda. The Commissioner said that admission to the school will be done purely on the basis of merit list and reservation rules and in case of any dispute, the decision of the Mandal level monitoring committee will be final and valid.
