Top O’ the Town - Super Mario 64 Complete Star Guide

In this episode of my Super Mario 64 Star Guide, we’re collecting “Top of the Town” in Wet-Dry World (Course 11). This star can be completed pretty quickly once you understand how movement and water levels work in this stage. I start the level with the water level set all the way down to demonstrate that you’re not always dependent on swimming to navigate Wet-Dry World. I also explain an important mechanic many players miss: the height of your jump into the painting determines the starting water level, letting you plan your approach before the level even begins. From there, I show how to use the robot enemies (the ones with the pressure plates) to launch Mario up to higher sections of the stage. By baiting them into position and standing on their platforms at the right moment, you can reach areas that would otherwise require careful water manipulation. Once at the upper levels, it’s mostly about clean movement and dealing with the camera—something that can be a challenge in Super Mario 64 compared to later 3D platformers. After sneaking past the final obstacles, the star is waiting inside a block at the very top of the town. If this guide helped you out, please consider liking the video and subscribing to the channel.
