Scented Halloween Cookie Charms ( Polymer Clay )

Scented Halloween Cookie Charms ( Polymer Clay )

I love Halloween, so I was inspired to make these scented cookies charms (made with polymer clay) which I eventually turned into a key chain. DOUGH: The "dough" was made by mixing 1/4 parts Ecru (Premo Brand) or any Tan Clay, with 1/4 parts any white polymer clay, and with 2/4 parts any translucent polymer clay. SCENT: Honey Almond Fragrance (For Soap) : I bought this fragrance from Micheal's Craft Store in the soap making department. I mixed in 2 drops of the honey almond scent into the clay and mixed it in by hand. Once the clay is baked and the paint is dry, you can paint on more of the liquid fragrance. The baked clay with soak up the fragrance and make the scent last. HEADPINS: I added the headpins before I baked them. After I baked the charms I took out the headpins and added E600 Industrial Strength Glue to each headpin before placing it back in the charm. This helps the headpin to stay in place. BAKING: I let the acrylic paint dry before I baked the charms. I baked them for 20 minutes at 275 degrees Fahrenheit. GLOSSY GLAZE: I painted the frosting with 3 coats of Sculpey Glossy Glaze. I let the glaze dry before painting another layer. This made the paint lines smoother and helped the charms to look even more realistic.
