Philippines slammed by Typhoon Hagupit, at least 2 deaths reported 태풍 ′하구핏′ 필리

The Philippines is picking up the pieces this evening after being slammed by its strongest typhoon so far this year. Typhoon Hagupit made landfall with winds up to 175 kilometers an hour. It struck very close to the area where Typhoon Haiyan hit last year, killing more than 63-hundred people. But the Philippines was better prepared this time around. The government issued warnings well in advance and more than one million people in the area are reported to have fled by the time the storm made impact. ABC News in Australia, however, is reporting at least two deaths from the typhoon. South Korea′s foreign ministry has issued a travel warning to the typhoon-stricken country. The government is currently discussing the size of humanitarian assistance and is also looking into sending a task force team to the Philippines.
