Jesus proclaimed the Jubilee Year from the synagogue of Nazareth
The Jubilee years occur every 25 years in the Catholic Church and sometimes sooner, on an extraordinary basis, as in the case of the Year of Mercy, instituted by Pope Francis in December. The tradition, of Jewish origin, is narrated in the Old Testament.
