* Mean * A Harry Potter Story pt. 33

Ginny walked down the hallway, hidden with her fellow Gryffindors. She stared straight ahead, eyeing Amycus Carrow, who stood in a stairway facing them. She felt someone brush her arm, and then grab her hand. She turned her head and saw Harry walking beside her. Ginny faced the front again, feeling slightly more confident as they walked towards the Great Hall. Ginny listened to Snape almost as well as Ron and Harry listened to Professor Trelawney. She kept her head down and her hand fastened tightly to Harry's. In her head, although knowing it was selfish, she thought of all the possibilities she and Harry might have after this battle. Harry's hand slackened in hers, and she instantly startled. She was aware of her surroundings, and the fact Harry was confronting Snape, face to face. "It seems, despite your exhaustive defensive strategies, you suffer a bit of a security problem Headmaster," Harry said. The Great Hall doors opened and the Order of the Phoenix strolled in, wands out. "I'm afraid it's quite extensive. How dare you stand where he stood? Tell them how it happened that night, how you looked him in the eye, a man who trusted you, and killed him. Tell them," Harry all but yelled this. Snape's wand was out in a flash, and all the students cowered to the walls. McGonagall was next to Harry in less than five seconds, her wand poised. Ginny watched in horror as McGonagall literally threw fire from her wand at Snape, who just blocked it. Then it all blurred, the Carrows fell, and there was a large hole in the glass that had just been repaired over the summer. "Coward!" McGonagall screeched. Everyone cheered, and Ginny took off her Gryffindor robe. She noticed her mother talking sternly with Fred and George, but she waved it off. Then, a high pitched scream severed through the hall. Harry quickly made his way over, and then Padma started screaming. No one moved to help the girls. Either they were too scared or just shocked, but then another voice entered the Great Hall. "I know that many of you will want to fight. Some of you may even think that to fight is wise, but this is a folly. Give me Harry Potter. Do this and nothing will be harmed. Give me Harry Potter and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched. Give me Harry Potter and you will be rewarded. You will have one hour." The voice lifted, and everyone stared at Harry. "What are you wait for? Someone grab him!" Ginny looked at Pansy Parkinson, who was pointing at Harry. Ginny walked forward and shielded Harry from the clutches of the Slytherins. Other people surrounded them, and Pansy Parkinson was looking rather unhappy. "Students out of bed! Students out of bed! Students in the corridors!" Filch came running into the hall, carrying his ugly cat. "They are supposed to be out of bed, you blithering idiot!" "Oh, sorry ma'am," Filch said, shrinking down. "As it happens, Mr. Filch, your arrival is most opportune. If you would, I would like you please, to lead Miss Parkinson, and the rest of Slytherin House from the hall," McGonagall said. "Exactly where is it, I'll be leading 'em to, Ma'am?" Filch asked. "The Dungeons will do." Ginny couldn't help but cheer along with the rest of the Slytherins. As they were being led away, Harry's hand slipped from her's once again, and he left to talk with McGonagall. Ginny watched them before turning to Hermione. "Are you going to explain to me the madness you've caused?" Ginny asked, raising her eyebrows. "Nice to see you too," Hermione said, laughing. Ginny watched Harry run out of the Great Hall. "Er, Hermione, I have an idea, it's sort of mad as Hell, but..." Ron turned bright red. Hermione raised her eyebrows but followed Ginny's brother to the corner. "C'mon Gin, McGonagall needs us," Seamus said. He led her to the courtyard where Neville and McGonagall were talking. "-for things like these," McGonagall said. "I can bring it down," Seamus said happily. Ginny casted Neville a puzzled look, but ran with them as they headed to the covered bridge. I left my book at school and there weren't any good websites, so sorry if it isn't exactly word-for-word like it is in the movies or the books.
