After the success of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, a reworked compilation of the first three games in the Crash Bandicoot series, and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled were already speculating on a new game. The game was announced at the Summer Game Fest on June 22, 2020, being released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One platforms (with optimization for Xbox Series X). The game will be a direct continuation of the third Crash game released in 1998.
