Kentucky Scorpion with Scorplings

This short clip shows a Kentucky scorpion with newly born baby scorpions ("scorplings") on her back. This is Vejovis carolinianus, AKA the Southern Devil Scorpion, which is the only scorpion species known to live in Kentucky. These scorpions live under rocks and logs in wooded areas in southeastern Kentucky. Their sting is mild and they are considered harmless.
