This SECOND VERSION of the interactive backing track on the song SUNNY by Booby Hebb is played on a FUNKY style rhythm. The tempo is slower than that of the original song, but this version is a little more difficult than the previous one, because the funky rhythm pushes us to use 16th notes, both in the comping and in the improvisation! You can DOWNLOAD my transcription of the theme here: https://www.pietroballestrero.com/wp-... I always recommend you memorize the melody and the chord progression! In the first 2 choruses you can start playing the melody. Then we switch, you comp and I solo, and we are going to IMPROVISE for two choruses each. At the end you can play the theme again, twice. The FIRST VERSION of this PLAY WITH ME session on the song SUNNY is a little easier and it is played on a kind of bossa nova style rhythm. REVIEW IT HERE: Sunny first version    • SUNNY - Jazz interactive backing track - E...   THE THIRD VERSION is the most difficult of the 3, and it is played on a funky rhythm, with a faster tempo. Sunny 3rd version (advanced): coming soon! VERY IMPORTANT: pay close attention to the drums, especially when you are comping and I'm soloing, because that's going to be your main reference for the rhythm and for the structure. This the the most important exercise: always LISTEN! This interactive play along is best for guitar, piano, bass, vibes, or any other harmonic instrument... But it can also be used by saxophone or trumpet players, clarinet etc. Horns players: you should play a counterpoint line when I'm soloing!
