Steady state groundwater flow modeling using processing modflow

Steady state groundwater flow modeling using processing modflow

The tutorial will shows how to translate a hydrogeological problem formulation into a conceptual model description and how to build and run a steady-state groundwater model using PMWIN 8. Step 1. Conceptual model choice 2. Create a new PMWIN model 3. Generate the model grid 4. Assign the type of layers 5. Assign cell status 6. Specify the elevation of the top and bottom of the model layers 7. Specify the initial and prescribed hydraulic head 8. Specify hydraulic conductivity 9. Specify the effective porosity 10. Specify the recharge rate 11. Specify the pumping well and the pumping rate 12. Perform the flow simulation 13. generate contour maps of the calculated heads 14. Calculate sub-regional water budgets Note: this tutorial is part of Groundwater Modelling course to Undergraduate student of Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering.
