Last time, I talked about Jacques Villeneuve’s 1996 season and how close he was to winning the 1996 Formula 1 World Championship. In this video presentation, still in the year 1996, this time discussing the champion of that year; Damon Hill. Hill went through hell and back his previous few seasons in F1 prior to ‘96 to reach his peak that year. Despite all of what he went through, it all came down to Suzuka for the last race of 1996 for Damon to finally become the Formula 1 World Champion; becoming the first father-son duo to win the F1 championship. Arguably, you could say that he’s got 2 championships, considering the controversy of Adelaide ‘94; but that’s a whole different video for another day. That aside, this is the story of how Damon Hill pulled through and won the Formula 1 World Championship of 1996.
