Amity United Church of Christ The Fourth Sunday of Easter Mother’s Day May 11, 2025 The Call to Worship – Psalm 23, NKJV L: The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. P: He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. L: He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. P: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. L: You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. P: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. The Prayer of Confession Father, Your Son told us He was Yours and we did not believe. His works in Your name bore witness and we failed to see and understand. Our failure shames us. Forgive us our sinfulness. Let us be a part of Your flock and in the safety of Your hand. In Christ, Amen. The Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man; and crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried, and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead; Whose kingdom shall have no end. And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
